Description
This is my favorite place to photograph. The view under the Venice Fishing Pier is like looking out into eternity. Standing there with my feet in the sand, the waves tunneling down through the pier and towards me at the beach, hearing the waves and watching the water patterns in the sand as the water pulls back into Gulf... seeing the glow of the mist spraying into the air as waves tumble... this is my happy place. The photograph opportunities are endless. I did a long exposure to bring out a mysterious mystical feel, soften the waves, and stretch the clouds. This is like a view into eternity.
The fishing pier in Venice, Florida is a great place to watch the sunset at the end of the day. The pier extends 700 feet out into the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and is very tall. It is located in Brohard Park at the southern end of the island of Venice. There is a restaurant called Sharky's on the end of the pier. Caspersen Beach is just down the road where fossilized sharks teeth can be found. This is one of the most popular landmarks in Venice. I also have a color version of this image.
