Description
This is a view of the sunset on Lake Michigan from Holland State Park. It's a popular place to walk on the jetty, go fishing, and watch the boats go by. Across the channel stands a beautiful big red lighthouse where Lake Michigan connects with Lake Macatawa. "Big Red" is also known as Holland Harbor Light. The original structure was built in 1872 and the current structure was built in 1907. It has a gabled roof which reflects the Dutch influence in the area.
