Description
This is an original oil painting that I did while in art school in 1991. My inspiration came from a lovely pond surrounded with willow trees across the street from where I was living at school. I enjoyed photographing the beautiful trees and their reflections, and used one of my photos as reference. For color my inspiration came from Impressionist and Pointillist art. I wanted to use pastel colors to create a peaceful and serene mood. I hand-stretched the canvas on a wooden frame that I had put together, and then primed the canvas with gesso before painting on it with oils. The canvas dimensions are 24"H x 18.25" W x 1.5" D. The original is framed in an elegant light wood with outer dimensions of 25.5"H x 19.375"W x 2"D.
