Downtown Venice, Florida has a wonderful main street area. Throughout the city there are beautiful sculptures, some of them bronze images of children. They are precious and add a nice mood to the city. The city of Venice is known for its love of the arts and adds a lot of beauty to the area with well maintained gardens and parks. This sculpture is "Sophia". She is holding a shell up to her ear as if listening to the sound of the sea. She stands just outside a historic coffee shop with outdoor seating. Sophia stands at the corner of West Venice Avenue. Venice is an amazing city in Florida. It sits on the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast and has a beautiful beach, jetty, and pier. You have a couple places at the coast to watch beautiful sunsets each night. The historic main street of downtown is lined with palm trees and full of charm. I love the architecture here, especially the buildings from the 1920's. Venice is just south of Sarasota and is near Englewood, Nokomis, and North Port.If you look closely at this image you will see layers of texture applied to the background for artistic effect.
