Christmas lights have been hung in Venice, Florida, and downtown is breathtaking. The moon is shining brightly in the sky. Two rows of decorated palm trees line the median of Venice Avenue for a couple blocks, drawing many visitors at night. There were so many pedestrians and cars I came back on Christmas morning before sunrise, and had the street pretty much to myself. It was amazing. I was able to get a lot of photos before the sleepy town woke up. Venice is in Sarasota county on the west coast of Florida, and is known for its love of the arts and wonderful beaches. Many of the buildings were built in the 1920's which give the town its charm. This would make a great Christmas card.
