My husband Michael took this photo, and I edited it with a slight oil paint effect on it. This is a view of Venice Avenue in downtown Venice, Florida on Christmas morning. I like the composition my husband found here with the statue in the foreground and all the leading lines.
The Christmas lights in downtown are breathtaking. Two rows of decorated palm trees line the median of Venice Avenue for a couple blocks, drawing many visitors at night. There were so many pedestrians and cars we came back on Christmas morning before sunrise, and had the street pretty much to ourselves. It was amazing.
Venice is in Sarasota county on the west coast of Florida, and is known for its love of the arts and wonderful beaches. Many of the buildings were built in the 1920's which give the town its charm. This photo would make a great Christmas card.
