Description
The fishing pier in Venice, Florida is a great place to watch the sunset at the end of the day. The pier extends 700 feet out into the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and is very tall. It is located in Brohard Park at the southern end of the island of Venice. There are two restaurants on the end of the pier: Sharky's and Fins. Caspersen Beach is just down the road where fossilized sharks teeth can be found. This is one of the most popular landmarks in Venice. On this night the clouds hung low at the horizon, and when the sun came down below them the color burst into very warm colors at the horizon. I did a long exposure to soften the water and create a very peaceful mood. This photo is an HDR to capture the details in the light and dark areas. If you look closely in the sky you can see the stars.
