Artist's Description
During the rainy season of summer in Florida we often have dramatic storms in the afternoon. Sometimes the skies are amazing with powerful cloud formations. This beach scene is at Fort Desoto Park with storm clouds forming over the Gulf of Mexico. A red lifeguard stand with a white chair faces the waters, as if watching the storm and standing guard for protection. Seagrasses are blowing in the wind. There is a sense of serenity and calm here in spite of the storm in the distance. Fort Desoto Park is near St. Petersburg, Florida in the Tampa Bay area.

I absolutely love the dramatic cloud and sky in this remarkable image Liesl!! what i love more is the contrast of the stormy sky Vs the calmness of the beach. two totally different worlds yet in great harmony coexisting in this wonderful capture. oddly i do imagine myself sitting on the life guard chair to enjoy this wonder. it taught me there is always peace within chaos!!
