Description
The Hemingway House is one of my favorite places in Key West. I love the lush tropical landscsaping and the 2-story wrap around porch. It is a writer's haven full of inspiration. Ernest Hemingway's house had one of the only freshwater pools on the island. Ernest's office was in a separate building behind the house on the second floor. He had a 6-toed cat named Snowball, and today many descendants of his cat roam around the home. This image is also available in color. It is also published in my husband's book, "Vagabonds in France", by Michael A. Barry. (We stopped at Key West on the way to Europe.)

Sail across the Atlantic, dodge pickpockets, climb mountains, descend into the Paris Metro, endure nasty weather and illness, witness the flood of the century, and meet some wonderful and not-so-wonderful people. Chuckle with us as we live among the French and try to learn their ways and language. Then make it back home to an empty house we'd never seen before.
