Description

Venice is an amazing city in Florida. It sits on the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast and has a beautiful beach, jetty, and pier. You have a couple places at the coast to watch beautiful sunsets each night. This is a view of downtown Venice on Venice Avenue. It's the historic main street of downtown, full of charm. I love the architecture here, especially the buildings from the 1920's. Venice is known for its wonderful main street area and love of the arts. Venice is just south of Sarasota and is near Englewood, Nokomis, and North Port.

I just love the colors on this one. I played around with adjusting the colors of the sky, and the blues and purples on this really stood out to me. And when I created a painterly version it did something special with the colors.

I have both color and black and white versions of this photo, and painterly of each.

I woke up really early to get this photo. My husband Mike and I arrived when it was still dark and the morning rain had just stopped. As we were driving to downtown I saw the raindrops on the windshield and was really bummed thinking we would be rained out. After getting up so early you want to capture something. We almost turned around, but the adventurous spirit in us told us to try anyway, you never know what you will see!

Well good thing we kept going, because by the time we arrived downtown the rain stopped and it left little puddles everywhere adding little reflections in the road. It actually created a really nice mood for this photo so we were thrilled!
